How can I let go of my fear of childbirth? |
|
Reprogramming your mind to accept that birth is okay. Moving you away from fear and closer to the family you desire
The best and quite possibly the only way to completely free yourself of the fear of childbirth (also known as Tokophobia) is to re-programme your mind using hypnosis. To understand how this works we need to first look at the brain and how the mind works. We tend to think of the left brain (conscious mind) which is logical, analytical and rational as the stronger part of our mind and the right brain (subconscious mind) which is intuitive, imaginative and emotional as the more fun and creative side of the brain. However, the left brain cannot create anything that is not first imagined in the right, making it in fact the weaker part of the brain. So to make permanent change we need to do it on a subconscious level. Because the subconscious mind doesn’t know the difference between real and imagined events it will create physical changes within your body when it is faced with danger whether that danger is perceived or real (remember the last time you watched a frightening film – what physical reactions did you have? Was it real? Was it happening to you?). Therefore, every time you think about and therefore imagine childbirth and you tap into your fears your subconscious believes it is in immediate danger putting your body on ‘red alert’. From the viewpoint of this mis-programming your only way to remain safe is to not get pregnant. But you want to have a baby, so we need to make sure that changes are made on a subconscious level for this unwanted fear to be completely removed. This can be done using hypnosis. By attending hypnotherapy sessions and practising self-hypnosis you will be able to break free of this negative programming and accept positive new conditioning in its place moving you closer towards having the baby that you want. How long are the sessions and where are they held?
Sessions last between 60-90 minutes and take place in the relaxed comfortable atmosphere of my home in Sidcup .
Skype sessions now also available
Having successful trialed the use of Skype with my Fertility clients this is now a very real option for anyone wishing to see me for other forms of hypnotherapy where distance once may have proved prohibitive.
How many sessions will I need?
During your first session a personal history is taken and past experiences and beliefs are discussed. Time is taken to explain what hypnosis is and how our mind and body can work together and against each other.
This information gained will determine how many sessions you will require and is used to create an individual programme for you utilising a variety of hypnotherapeutic techniques. You will also learn techniques that can be used at home.
How much does it cost?
I charge £75 per session.
